EXMOOR AND THE QUANTOCKS

It is widely known that The Quantocks offer the best rides in England - yet despite its reputation the Quantocks still retain their peace, beauty and excitement. The Quantocks stretch from the Bristol Channel coast to Taunton in Somerset. They not only offer undulating rides on the ridge but spectacular and exhilarating downhills. They challenge the more extreme riders with steep descents and rough terrain. A great allrounder - the Quantocks never fail to inspire all level of cyclists.

Exmoor National Park offers an amazing amount of off-road opportunities. Between Dunkery Beacon at 1750ft and sea level there is an assortment of woods, coombes, moors, lakes and rivers. The park has some spectacular scenery and for mountain bikers it is a mecca of challenges, thrills and extreme landscapes.

Directions to Exmoor and Quantock MTB. If using the M5 turn off at Junction 24 and follow signs to Bridgwater. At large set of traffic lights with Safeway on your left turn left on to the A39. Follow this road for 16 miles until you reach a village called West Quantoxhead. Just past the Texaco garage on your left take the first turning on your right signposted to Donifor /Watchet. At foot of steep hill turn right and follow signs to Sunnybank. If using A303 take the A358 to Taunton. Follow the dual carriageway into Taunton passing Odean Cinema/Hollywood Bowl onyour right. At large roundabout turn right, signposted to Minehead. Drive 16 miles to village of Williton. At mini roundabout turn right into village for 200m. At Pioneer Store (Coop) turn left and after 200m take a right turn at The Mason's Arms signposted Doniford. After 1 Mile at t-junction turn right and then take the first left turn and follow the Sunnybank signs.
